Personal Reflection
This was my first week back into action with a youth group. I recently changed from BodyShop to McGrawsville UMC. I felt this was the right choice because, I can get more one on one here. This was only the second week of the start of thier program. Saying so, no one showed up this week. There were alot of school activities and not many remembered that it was tonight. This may seem like a bad thing, and yes I'll admit that it was sad, but it was nice, because I did get to sit down with the youth pastor and jsut talk and connect and find that we have alot in common. We got to run over new ideas and talk about the lesson which is going to be amazing. We have some great activities coming up this weekend and in the next month.
Spiritual Reflection
This week has been GREAT! I feel God's love so much this week that it is hard not to smile. Its funny because this week I have been dealing alot with some struggles and trials, but what I have learned is that even problems can be glorifying to God, I just have to choose to look at it that way. And in me doing this, I find that I have so much to be thankful for. In my ministry I am pumped, I have a great leader who is like my peer, which will make it so easy to connect and learn from.

Hey Chris,
ReplyDeleteit's a bummer that no kids showed up but its great you got to talk with the youth pastor. One on one is so beneficial when we are trying to learn about ministry. Its also very exciting being a part of a new ministry. This summer I had the chance to be a youth pastor at a church and many times I would have something great planned and no one would show up or only 1 or 2 kids...this was very stressful and easy to get down about, but I learned to take advantage of the situation and really provide the kid who did show up with some attention focusing on what game they wanted to play or what they wanted to do. I'm sure things will pick up and start going, but while they are slow, take advantage of the time and talk with the youth pastor and get knowledge from him. Sometimes thats one of the best ways to really learn (besides actually doing it yourself). Hope things go well for you this next week!
