Personal Reflection
This was actually the first time I got to hang out with the kids and introduce myself to the kids. Before I left, I was thinking to myself that it was going to be hard because the game was in the dark, but overall it went pretty well. The game was called Commando, and the kids had to find one of the leaders hidding and try to sneak up on them. If the leader saw them He would shine his light on them and they would have to start all over again. It was fun for me to watch and I was also trying to sneak up and scare the kids. We tried playing two games, but instead they got a little bored, and I showed like 10 kids how to Star Trip. It involves looking up at a star and spining around for 20 times and then they stop and we shine a light in their eyes. The end result is very fun, the person just flops over like a dead fish, or they run around trying to catch their footing and still usually end up falling over. After the night I was really looking forward to the upcoming Sun night yth group and Wed night. But the youth pastor, his fiance and me were all sick, so he cancelled them. It was a little depressing because I still have not got to hang out with them inside of the church, but it will come, and Im just really happy that I got to meet them and hang out with them for those couple hours.
Spiritual Reflection
So do to the circumstances, I really did not get to see God move inside of the youth group. I mean in hanging out with them, I feel that they have clean attitudes, and I already see some of the leaders of the youth group, and its good, because they are sophmores, so they will be around for awhile. My spiritual walk is going good. Its down a little bit from last week, because I have been jam packed, but I just love those little times in my day where I can look up to God and pray and just say thanks for the day, even if its when I just woke up. I am starting to force myself that I can give God glory in so many more ways than reading the Bible, and thats comforting.
