Ministry Reflection
The week was alot of fun with the Jr. high youth event. We went ice skating and laser tagging. I am a huge fan of laser tagging and I used to play alot when I was younger. On the other hand I am a horible ice skater and almost got kicked out this time, because I was trying to have to much fun with the kids. I was happy that this was a Jr. high event and not a Sr. high, becuase I have already made good friendships in with the Sr. high. So for the first couple of minutes it was a little awkard. After that it was alright, I became good friends with some of the girls, and I got the girls to laugh at me which is always a good way to start a friendship. Then on Sunday night there was the best fit seminar. This is a seminar, in which the kids took answered questions and it told them what there strengths are and how they can use them to better themselves. I found out that I have some areas of strength that I did not know I have. The youth nights are going great, and I am really excited to see were things go.
Spiritual Reflection
This was a great week. I found out that I passed my clep test which was a gift of God. I am constently learning so many new things about Him at this moment in my life. He is doing so much for me right now, it is hard to not feel His love. In the book Wild at Heart, am I not only learning ways that I can improve myself right now, but also me in the future as a father, which I am totally going to enjoy.

  1. Hey Chris,

Sounds like your week went really well! I'm glad you had a good time with the Jr. High laser tagging and ice skating. We did laser tag last year with the group and it was a blast! It's cool that you had a chance to establish some relationships with the jr. high students also. When the youth group is divided like that in a sense, it is hard to get to know everyone in a short period of time. I have also realized that getting them to laugh at you is a great way for them to be comfortable with you. Glad the seminar went well too, its always cool to walk away from youth group (where you are one of the leaders) and take something from what was discussed or done. Sounds like you are learning a lot about God. Keep digging, thats all I can really say...i know thats what I'm doing. Have a good week!

    Kristi
